Top Ten Books At The Top of My Summer TBR List

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by the lovely ladies over at The Broke and the Bookish

THIS WEEK'S PROMPT IS TOP TEN BOOKS AT THE TOP OF MY SUMMER TBR LIST
Oh my gosh you guys. This list was seriously so hard for me to put together. I pretty much want to read ALL the books right now and could barely cut myself off at ten. I decided I should go with the books that I have on hand, dying to be read on my shelf. So what you have is basically a list of books that I own that I need to read. like now.

1. Amy and Roger's Epic Detour by Morgan Matson
I went out and bought this one on impulse at Chapters the other day and I cannot wait to read it. So road trip is the number one reason, but it's also because so many bloggers have raved about it. I am fully prepared to love this book and can't wait for my first day at the beach to read it.

2. Eleanor and Park by Rainbow Rowell
Eleanor and Park just sounds like a fantastic YA romance. It has misfits and music and it's set in 1986. These are all things that I love in any form of entertainment be it book, movie or song. (Goodreads)

3. Divergent by Veronica Roth
Honestly, I kind of don't know what this one is really about. BUT it's not a contemporary and it is so incredibly popular. I know I definitely want to check it out especially since I think it's a good book to help me break out of my contemporary romance comfort zone. (Goodreads)

4. Twenty Boy Summer by Sarah Ockler
This is seriously a book I've been meaning to read for over a year and I finally went out and bought it. It just sounds like the perfect book for summer, exploring summer romances, beaches and friendship, but with something a little deeper at its core. (Goodreads)

5. This is What Happy Looks Like by Jennifer E. Smith
I thought Smith's first book was super cute, but not total fluff and just really enjoyed reading it so I'm looking forward to reading her second. Plus summer is the perfect time to read a book about an actor and regular non famous person finding love in a small town don't you think? (Goodreads)

6. The Theory of Everything by Kari Luna
Okay this book just sounds really different from everything else out there and involves pandas in some capacity. I think that says it all. (Goodreads)

7. The Summer I Became a Nerd by Leah Rae Miller
This just seems like it features some fairly unconventional characters. I may not share their interests, but the write up reminds me a lot of some of my self professed nerdy friends who I love dearly. (Goodreads)

8. Point of Retreat by Colleen Hoover
I didn't LOVE Slammed, but I liked it and I know I want to read its sequel. Plus it's been sitting on my ereader for way too long unread! (Goodreads)

9. Wild Awake by Hilary T. Smith
Everybody just seems to like this one to some degree and I kind of like the idea of this murder mystery being woven into the story. (Goodreads)

10. The Rules for Disappearing by Ashley Elston
I have been dying to read this book for months. It involves the witness protection program. Not everybody loved it, but I kind of don't care. I still need to read it! (Goodreads)

  4. Great, great list! I've read 1-4 and 9 and plan to read almost the rest. Twenty Boy Summer is amazeballs as is Divergent. And if the style of Twenty Boy Summer is your thing I highly recommend Morgan Matson's second book Secondary Summer. Great summer read with depth and sadness.

  7. Divergent is an excellent novel! It's not my favorite dystopian book and I don't think it's quite as good as everyone makes it out to be, but at the same time it is truly entertaining and worth picking up. Eleanor & Park is excellent, too! I adored it. Happy reading!

    1. I haven't read a lot of dystopian so I don't have much to compare Divergent to which might help its case for me. I'm glad to hear you enjoyed Eleanor & Park!

  8. TWENTY BOY SUMMER!!! You are in for some serious feelings! It's awesome! I hope you like it as much as I did... and just to warn you Frankie is a b****. The Rules for Disappearing wasn't my favorite, but would be perfect for an easy summer read :) I want to read The Summer I Became a Nerd really bad too... I love the whole sound of it. And Wild Awake, that looks cool too!

Thanks for stopping by My TTT earlier!
