Top Ten Goals/Resolutions for 2015

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by the lovely ladies over at The Broke and the Bookish

THIS WEEK'S PROMPT IS TOP TEN GOALS FOR 2015
2014 was a difficult year for me health wise and I'm hoping to get back to myself for 2015. In no particular order are some goals for 2015. Some are book or blog related and some are just for myself.

1. Read the Books I Buy
I have far too many books sitting on my shelves unread for a year or more. I want to read and re-read the books that I already own rather than spending money buying more books that I have no room for. I want to do this before I even go to the library so I can appreciate what I already have.

2. Connect More with the Bookish Community
I basically took a break from blogging for the past year and connected with very few people. I'm not the most social person and find talking to people, even online, to be intimidating at times. Even before I took a break I didn't talk to that many people. I would like to connect more with people in the upcoming year; I would love to talk about books with people and not just at through these pages.

3. Read and Update More Frequently
My health issues and work schedule didn't allow for much reading time this year and I basically disappeared. I miss reading and discussing books and  I would like to keep it up for awhile and center myself doing things that I love.

4. Allow Myself to Take Breaks
On that same note, if things get bad again I need to learn to cut myself some slack and allow myself to just do nothing.

5. Join at Least One Challenge
I've never signed up for a reading challenge before and I've been looking into a few for the next year. Some look very interesting and I really should just write a post and link up. It would probably help with Goal 2 as well.

6. Let Go of Things That Just Don't Do It For Me
If a book's not working put it down instead of focusing on how much I dislike it. If a job is getting to me, work towards finding a better situation.

7. Organize My Thoughts and Time
This goes along with the previous goal; I would love to spend more time focusing on what I love and spending time doing those things rather than focusing on negative things this year.

8. Carve Out Time for Myself and Those I Love
I allowed myself to get completely consumed by work last year which eventually led to my illness in a roundabout kind of way. In 2015 I would love to re-find balance and make family, friends and myself a priority again.

9. Re-Read What I Love
I don't re-read a lot of books, but I have a list of books that touched me and I would love to make time to read them again.

10. Support Those in my Life Who Need it and Ask for Help When I Do
Pretty self-explanatory no?

  1. I love reading challenges and read-a-thons!! They are so much fun. Have you heard of Bout of Books? Read-A-Thon? It's a fun no stress event with Twitter parties and mini challenges... Good goals for 2015!!

  2. I think I signed up for Bout of Books once years ago, but I'm pretty sure I chickened out of full on participating. Thank you for reminding me of it; I think I'll sign up for the next one!

  3. I love that you included personal resolutions and that you're all about taking time for yourself. I feel like I keep forgetting about that myself. Great list!
    Happy New Year! :)
